Gautam Buddha Nagar: State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay inaugurated the 12th International Library and Information Professionals Conference at Galgotias University in Gautam Buddha Nagar as the chief guest. The conference has been organized in collaboration with Gautam Buddha University and with the support of Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay sent his best wishes and described libraries as the basis of educational and cultural progress. He said that libraries are the heart of any educational institution. Their role has become even more important in the digital age, as they are a major medium for the preservation and dissemination of knowledge.
Minister Upadhyay said that this conference will not only promote technological innovations in the field of library science, but will also provide it a platform where global experts, researchers and thinkers will exchange ideas. He described the event as an important step towards strengthening India’s education and knowledge management system at the global level.

The Higher Education Minister specially praised the One Nation, One Subscription (ONOS) initiative of the Government of India. He described it as a revolutionary step to ensure wide and accessible access to digital resources. He believes that such initiatives will prove helpful in bringing equality in the field of education and research.
Highlighting the changing role of libraries, he said that the digital age has given rise to new challenges and opportunities in the field of library science. He said that modern technologies are not only opening new doors for libraries, but it is also reshaping the landscape of education.
The theme of the conference this year is “Innovations in Library Science: Challenges and Opportunities”. This theme is fully dedicated to the objectives of the Government of India’s projects like Digital India and Make in India. In this three-day event, there will be an in-depth discussion on the use of modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blockchain technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics, innovation and research data management in libraries.
This conference will provide an effective platform to discuss technology, innovation and research in the field of library science.
